The Problem
Buried tanks were originally proposed for this 74-unit Finesse Residential project. 700L of stormwater detention was required, to meet the stormwater management requirements for the area.
Due to excessive excavation costs, invert level issues, and limited space, buried tanks were not an option. We proposed Aquacomb tanks in the slab, and the balance under piled houses.
The Solution
As the slabs on this project were extra thick due to soil conditions, we were able to use our 350L Aquacomb pods (300mm high) in the slabs. Installing Aquacomb in the foundation slab enabled the integration of an organized schedule with no delay due to weather during construction through the winter months.
By successfully swapping out the buried tanks originally proposed, Finesse Residential was not only able to deal with one company that provided an end-to-end solution but also:
- Included pump supply for reuse systems due to being in a SMAF area (with careful consideration to the positioning within the small building footprint)
- Work within a sloping site with 48 lots as concrete slabs, and the balance on piles
- Solved invert level issues
Finesse Residential is all about innovation, so our product is the perfect fit for their model. In addition to this, Aquacomb came out cheaper than buried tanks due to less excavation!
