The Problem
The original plans for this project specified underground tanks at the rear of each townhouse. These were intended to be situated under a decking area but due to invert level issues for the stormwater outlet creating an unforseen problem new design options needed to be explored.
The Solution
UCON Construction approached Watersmart about coming up with an alternative design. We reviewed the plans available and noted that our AquaComb product would be suitable if there was enough room in the concrete slab for each site.
Due to a relatively small footprint and a large amount of reinforcement and under-slab pipe conflicts we were unable to use this layout which lead us to our ultimate solution of supplying our slimline 1000L FenceTank option.
The Outcome
Through liaison with the architect and builder we were able to settle on our Birch Grey colour option as the most aesthetically suitable for an above ground tank that tied in with the exterior colour scheme.
Each of the 8 terraced homes has a decking area where the 1000L FenceTanks have been installed. The slimline profile of these is only 410mm so is very unobtrusive, made even more so by the fact that they are fixed onto fence posts that slot into recesses within the tank.
Our solution keeps the tank footprint to a minimum and maximises the usable outdoor space for any potential purchaser.
